Welcome to Kai Haumanu which is Maori for Restorative Organic Food.We would love to welcome you to our family-owned caffe located in picturesque Te Awa Kairangi (The Hutt River).
This simple idea budded from growing fresh fruits and vegetables in our own garden. This passion for homegrown organic produce sparked our desire to create a space where fresh food is celebrated.
The café’s motto is: Whangaihia to tinana ki te kai organic that translates to ‘nourish your body with organic kai.
We offer a variety of locally produced organic breakfast and Lunch menus inspired by the unique Māori culture of the land.
Each dish is carefully crafted from scratch like in the good old days with a touch of homemade nostalgia.

Come along to experience some refreshing KawaKawa tea or our version of Hangi made from our homegrown Kumara and Māori potatoes which form the base of many of our dishes.
Do try our Fish and Chips or indulge in rich Sea Food Chowder for lunch, finishing off with Rewena (Māori bread).pudding.
Our coffee are 100% certified organic and roasted in house to extract every bit of flavour and prepared by our experienced Barista.
